- Region Pre-Seeding
Once all eight wrestlers have been determined for each weight class following Tuesday night's opening round, the pre-seed numbers are used to place wrestler's in the brackets.
The pre-seed number is determined by farthest advancements in the previous State and Region Tournament. In the event two or more wrestlers have identical previous advancements, the wrestler with the greater number of appearances will be given the higher seed. Also, previous advancement in the same weight class is given preference, followed by previous advancement in one higher weight class, then previous advancement in one lower weight class.
After pre-seeds have been determined, victories over a higher pre-seeded wrestler allows for wrestlers to move up in their seeding. In the event of wrestlers splitting bouts over the season, the most recent win is given preference. In the event of a triangle (Wrestler A defeated Wrestler B, B defeated C, C defeated A) the results are thrown out and not counted towards re-seeding.
